**JOB DESCRIPTION**

JOB TITLE Category Buyer

BASE LOCATION Waltham Abbey

SALARY £ TBC

FULL TIME HOURS 40 PER WEEK

Main responsibilities:

- Responsible for executing the end-to-end acquisition process from Purchase Order creation to delivery
- Resolve PO errors & queries such as quantity, price, specification, minimum & maximum order values etc
- RFx execution, pricing, rebates, and commercial terms negotiation.
- Supplier relationship management - resolving supplier issues, supplier performance management and develop plans for continuous improvement.
- Support the delivery of the assigned category strategy and drive continuous improvement activities
- Stakeholder management - ensure regular engagement with both client and supplier facing stakeholders, to keep abreast on any current or potential issues impacting business delivery. Instigate contingency plans as necessary.
- Deliver services to meet or surpass agreed Procurement metrics, SLAs, and objectives.

- Procurement Transactional KPIs
- Open Purchases
- PO cycled time
- Query / Issue resolution
- Data integrity
- Deliver year on year cost reductions targets
- Deliver category operational performance KPIs (e.g.) quality, cost, delivery,
- Category Compliance Management (purchase orders, contract management, supplier performance)

Education and experience:

- 3+ years’ previous buying experience within manufacturing and logistics.
- Experience in working in cross functional teams.
- Experience in delivery of complex supplier solutions.
- Experience in the SRM (Supplier relationship Management)
- Experienced in Contract Management
- Experience in both Direct and Indirect category management - preferred
- Warehouse and inventory management - desired

Technical Skills:

- Knowledge of best practice sourcing techniques & processes.
- Ability to interpret business and customer needs and leverage the supply base accordingly
- Proven ability to challenge the status quo and develop innovative solutions
- Experience in risk and opportunity management.
- Strong contractual knowledge & ability including import / export considerations.

Soft Skills:

- Ability to influence peers and stakeholders to deliver business results.
- Results driven
- Open minded (listen, share ideas etc.) and able to bring added value and innovation
- Can develop a reputation of commitment and trust then delivery with a result-oriented mind-set
- Ability to handle conflicts / problem resolution etc.

- Ability to develop networks.

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
