**Finance & Administration Apprentice**

**Information about the vacancy**

As part of the Finance and Administration Apprenticeship you will be supporting both the central office team as well as supporting school administrators. You will be dealing with various documents and need to be accurate and respectful of the content of the paperwork at all times.

As a Finance and Administration Apprentice you will be expected to complete a broad range of duties to assist with the general running and procedures within the central office. This will involve answering the telephone and assisting with queries where possible; if unable to help you will need to put through to the relevant person. Within the office environment you may be required to welcome any visitors who come into the office, asking what they require and finding the right member of staff to help. If they have come in for a meeting, you will need to offer tea or coffee also. Other duties to include:

- Filing
- Deal with the daily post and record as necessary
- Data entry onto the relevant software
- Deal with any queries that come up in the day to day role of Accounts Apprentice

An Daras MAT aims to make visitors feel comfortable and at ease in a friendly environment. You should be smartly dressed at all times and maintain a friendly and helpful manner.

Although the word apprentice implies that you will be a novice in the world of work you will still need the following skills to ensure you can successfully manage your responsibilities.
- Be flexible and able to prioritise a changing to-do list
- Detail orientated and accurate
- Articulate and a good communicator
- Good with English (verbally and written)
- Proficient in using a computer (Word, Excel essential)

You will need to be friendly and helpful to all, both staff and visitors and be a trustworthy and reliable employee. You must be self-motivated and be able to work in a team also.

Applicants should have achieved (or be predicted to achieve) GCSE Maths, grade B or above and GCSE English, grade C or above (or equivalent).

There will be the opportunity to progress onto further AAT qualifications and further your career within the academy and the wider accountancy sector.

Training

**Intermediate Apprenticeship in Accounting**, which includes:
AAT Level 2/3 Certificate in Accounting

Functional Skills in English and mathematics

Employment Rights and Responsibilities workbook

Work Experience Record logbook
