From timekeeping, to software development, broadcast engineering and content creation, we are truly the 11th Formula 1 team.
We are recruiting for a Camera Operator who would be based at our Media and Technology Centre in Biggin Hill. Do you have what it takes to be part of the world’s greatest sport and entertainment spectacle?
Main Duties & Responsibilities- To work closely with the broadcast directors with regards to race planning and camera positions.- Take a role in race admin and preparation, camera plans, lens lists and positioning of boom lifts.- Organizing and servicing equipment during the winter build. To repair broken and damaged kit where possible (liaising with the TV Engineering team and/or external suppliers to do so).- Staying up to date with developments within the sports broadcasting industry. Keeping abreast of the latest technical advancements, trends and standards in the industry, making recommendations for new equipment purchases that would improve results and workflow, as and when permitted by budgets and equipment life cycles.- To work closely with Health and Safety on camera positions and actively look for improved safety. Work on Risk Assessments and keeping them up-to-date.- To be involved in rigging and derigging and to operate a track, pits and/or podium camera during the race sessions. Being involved in the set up of remote cameras and camcat.- Marking up all camera positions and sorting out any early problems with planned positions. liaise with the promoter and the FIA if needed.- Overseeing platforms and positions and any moves needed to make position operational.- Boom lift positioning and operating, training given (this will mean working at height)- Virtual camera overseeing, platforms and positions rigged early for calibration.- Write a post-race camera plan and add pictures to support and rig notes if needed.- Basic pitlane operation to start, with a view to become a track camera operator. Also to gain knowledge of operating other camera systems including Remote cameras and camcat.- Attending race review meetings.
Other- To complete all mandatory training within specified timelines.- To operate safely at all times in line with Company health and safety requirements.- To undertake other duties within your capabilities as your Department Manager or Team Manager may assign to you from time to time.
Experience- Experience of working in live sports broadcast environment.
Knowledge & Skills- Good knowledge of broadcasting equipment and cameras and grip kit.- Knowledge and understanding of current TV production techniques and equipment.- Excellent communication skills.
