An exciting and rewarding role has arisen for the role of Outage Project Lead at our Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station in Suffolk. As Project Lead, you will lead the Project Team and be responsible for delivering outage goals, safely to time and cost to satisfy the station’s business targets. You’ll manage part of the overall outage preparation and execution to deliver the outage work scope to fixed timescales, to meet outage preparation milestones and outage execution plans. You’ll be required to interact with multiple stakeholders both internal and external to the station to ensure outage goals are met and will be required to work appropriate patterns in the outage, which may include nights if overseeing work on Critical Path.

**What you’ll be doing**

The role will focus on managing delivery of the outage project execution plan, including:

- Close monitoring and reporting of critical path activities, highlighting any threats to the plan
- Providing daily progress updates - issues, risk, and closure of Work Windows
- Input to planning the process and update on discovery milestones
- Mitigating the impact of emergent work
- Coordinating the use of common services and facilities
- Ensuring that the quality plan requirements are fulfilled
- Providing a single point of contact for the Project and acting as arbitrator for any conflicts, within the project area and managing all stakeholders
- Oversight of work crew
- Conducting the post outage lessons learned critique
- Developing and maintaining project tools, Action log, shift log and risk log including discovery milestones.

**Who you are**

We would love to hear from you if you have experience working with Project Management with familiarity of PWR’s and a general understanding of nuclear systems would be a distinct advantage. Experience in the areas of operations, maintenance, safety cases and engineering, as well as in the use of P6 or other planning tools would be an advantage. Great communications skills and attention to detail with a calm, measured approach coupled with the ability to prioritise are all essential. Discretion when handling sensitive information is important, alongside the ability to challenge in your area.

As a minimum, you will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent) and holding a relevant Degree may be an advantage. You should have the enthusiasm, drive, ownership and ability to facilitate change, for which excellent interpersonal skills are paramount. This will also mean you should have the ability to manage cross-functional working groups, encouraging a team ethos to help develop and deliver effective work programmes.
