**Definition of the Role**:
Ensuring the domestic department works to a high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the organisation, which involves, cleaning toilets, accommodation units, the coffee bar, administration offices and corridors.

**Purpose of the Role**:
To assist the Facilities Manager in providing a professional domestic service. To support other domestic staff, as part of a professional team, and ensuring Health and Safety is always adhered to.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all Domestic staff, assisting with resolving any problems, answering questions etc.
- Responsible for the reallocation of domestic duties in times of sickness, holidays etc.
- Checking and signing all timesheets for payroll, reporting instances of sickness absence, accidents etc.
- Hold regular staff meetings and take written notes for circulation, ensuring any action points are followed up and resolved.
- Carry out regular supervisions and appraisals with the team, ensuring goal setting and monitoring of individual and team performances.
- Responsible for the quality of the cleaning of the team by demonstrating the standards expected and checking the team’s work.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks ensuring staff are working within policy and procedures and risk assessments, including COSHH and wearing PPE.
- Regularly review risk assessments to ensure ongoing relevance and report any areas of concern to mitigate any identified risks to OD and at H&S Committee.
- Regularly review any cleaning procedures to ensure ongoing relevance and update as necessary.
- Responsible for cleaning materials stocks (including toilet rolls and ensuite cleaning materials for residents), ordering and recording stocks.
- Responsible for bedding stocks, ordering, and recording.
- Responsible for ironing and issue of bedding stock to cleaning team
- Ensure that cold weather provision bedding stocks are laundered and ironed, kept separately from other stock to ensure accessibility by housing staff.
- Liaise with HSO and Maintenance staff as needed and reporting to HSO concerns regarding specific residents.
- Carry out day to day cleaning and laundry tasks as designated in the cleaning specification.
- Participate in staff meetings, committees, and training as required to perform duties.
- Any associated duties as directed by Senior Management Staff.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Experience in supporting or leading a team.
- Experience in cleaning within a similar environment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety, including understanding of conducting Risk Assessments.
- Experience in setting targets/goals and monitoring performance against them.
- Highly motivated with a commitment to deliver a professional service.
- Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
- Flexible and willing to work in other areas to cover for absence.
- Self-confidence and ability to be assertive to achieve organisational goals.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Monday to Saturday

**Salary**: £19,838 per annum
