Bristol, United Kingdom Bristol City Council Full time

**Part Time, Permanent**

The Early Years Service is seeking an experienced and inspirational early years expert to join the Quality Improvement Team as apart time (0.4) Early Years Improvement Officer

The Bristol Early Years team serves a diverse sector of early years providers, including primary schools, nursery schools, childminders and private, voluntary and independent settings. Bristol Early Years is characterised by high quality, collaboration and ambition. Through its partnerships, the service makes a significant contribution to early years developments within and beyond the city.

Working alongside service leads, the Early Years Improvement Officer will strategically lead on the development of high-quality early years pedagogy and provision across the city to ensure improved outcomes for all children, particularly those facing the most disadvantage. Tackling inequality and narrowing the gap in attainment will be key areas of focus for this role.

You will be an experienced, driven leader with a successful track record of leading teams and programmes of work in relation to early years priorities. A strong analytical perspective will underpin your work as you lead on monitoring and evaluation systems and processes to support quality improvement. You will bring a strong understanding of system leadership and demonstrate how sector-based expertise can be mobilised to enhance Bristol’s early years offer.

You will demonstrate a flexible approach and be adept at handling issues as they arise in a responsive, solutions-focussed manner. Partnership-working and a people-focussed approach is essential, as is the ability to motivate and develop staff.
