**Family Worker** within our dynamic Pathways to Recovery Service.

Working as a Family Worker, you will participate in the work of the Family Interventions Service which supports service users to change their behaviour, enabling them to live successfully in prison and the community with tools to aid family engagement. To ensure that work is carried out within the service effectively and collaboratively.

**Hours**: 37.5hrs per week

**Salary**: £26,393.77 - £30,316.74 dependent on experience

**Responsibilities**:
**About You**:

- Experience working directly with families and individuals displaying challenging behaviour in one or more of the following fields; social work, youth offending, probation, prison health, family work, education, youth and community
- Experience and or knowledge of working with perpetrators and victims of domestic violence and clients with complex needs.
- Ability to demonstrate effective interventions in enabling individuals to improve their family relationships, life skills and opportunities
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adult’s procedures
- Ability to offer and coordinate appropriate interventions to individuals and their families
- Ability to engage with service users of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively with partnership agencies
- Ability to form trusting and constructive working relationships with offenders in a short space of time
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with service users, professionals and other team members
- Sensitivity in working with complex family issues
- Ability to maintain a practical, positive and considered approach when dealing with challenging behaviour
- Show commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for service users
- Have the capacity and self-confidence to innovate
- Commitment to continued professional development including the participation in internal and external training programmes
- Employ an empathic and non-judgemental attitude toward service users
- Good organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good level of IT literacy
- Experience of working within a prison environment
