**About the job**:
Our client currently requires a Deputy Engineering Delivery Manager to join the Defence Systems Engineering Team. You will provide support across the full SE lifecycle from concept through to in service, supporting some of the UKs most important Naval assets.This role is to support the Engineering Delivery Manger, who has a specific focus on the Software development and production. Therefore,this role is focused on the Hardware development and delivery.
**Role Responsibilities**:

- Leading a multidisciplinary technical team, including System Engineering, Control Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Safety, Security and Verification & Validation
- Providing a senior technical interface with the customer
- Delivering the project to cost and schedule
- Responsible for the engineering management plan and adherence to it
- Ensure adequate engineering resource and skill sets are maintained for the project
- Demonstrate technical progress to a steering group
- Support the preparation of contract changes and proposals
- Be aware of and comply with company standards of conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
- Carry out any other reasonable management request

**About you**:
**As an Engineering Delivery Manager your skills and qualifications will include**:

- Evidenced substantial experience in a Systems Engineering role
- Knowledge of System Engineering models and techniques.
- Experience of systems requirements management, definition, design, integration, acceptance and analysis
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in requirements management
- Team leadership or a strong aptitude for managing and developing people
- Able to work with people effectively at all levels, using well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills

**Preferred qualifications/experience/knowledge**:

- Relevant experience within defence, maritime, aerospace, or a similarly regulated industrial sector
- Knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS or similar), marine electronic equipment and/or the marine environment, maritime machinery and plant systems and control
- Knowledge of Control Systems and experienced and/or knowledgeable with PLC, SCADA and related Operational Technology systems
- Familiar with military environmental standards (e.g. DEF STAN 00-35, 59-411)
- Knowledge and experience of safety critical systems (SIL 2 / 3) and IEC 61508 Safety Systems
- INCOSE Associate/Certified Systems Engineering Professional certification
- Chartered Engineer
