Technique Recruitment Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Quality & Hygiene Manager, for our prestigious Norfolk based clients site.
**Based approximately 20 miles from Norwich (Own transport essential, due to location)
**Job Purpose**
Lead & manage the site QA and Hygiene functions effectively and efficiently to ensure that product and procedures satisfy all legal and VSF policy requirements and customer codes of practice. To lead improvements in team performance and wider site KPIs, thiswould suit a canddiate seeking a hands on role, where you influence change & best practices.
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Achievement of Site KPIs/Regulatory Standards and outstanding grades in both internal and external audits.
- Define and deliver continuous improvement activity within area
- Embedding of corporate values across the team
- Carry out 1-1s with direct reports (x5 colleagues) to include planned actions and related performance
- Planning for and driving levels of accountability for food safety culture across site
- Ensure suitable capability is developed across product quality and standards
- Actively lead Quality and Food Safety Audits, hands on role.
- Coordinate the activities of the Quality & hygiene teams, necessary to maintain and improve factory standards and KPIs, including any external contractors.
- Deputise for the Cluster Technical Manager in their absence.
- To lead the process of GMP audits and provide leadership to the site to ensure the integrity of the site standards in line with BRC and customer codes of practice.
- Lead the investigation and management of foreign bodies found on site or via consumer complaints.
- To lead the development and maintenance of a live and effective Work Instructions and Cleaning Schedules for manufacturing and general areas.
- Develop specific procedures for changeovers, deep cleaning and overhead cleaning.
- To monitor the effectiveness of cleaning through audits and to be responsible for arranging hygiene/cleaning training for staff. Advise factory management team as to improvement measures that need to be taken to deliver required standards.

**HSE Responsibilities (Levels 3 & 4)**
Lead by example to set expectations, plan work to be carried out in a safe manner, take action to prevent risk of harm to their team. Challenge and address unsafe behaviour, be involved in testing emergency procedures, lead accident & incident investigationsto establish root causes and preventative measures. Deliver safety briefings to your team so you are seen as the safety leader of your team. Make available team embers to support the company safety program.

**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Ideally degree qualified in a scientific or technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years previous years track record in a Food Industry environment
- Technical/Quality/Hygiene experience within a food or food manufacturing background.
- HACCP/COSHH trained
- Extensive experience of BRC accreditation, and food safety, hygiene standards and associated planning and detailed knowledge of customer codes of practice
- Focused on continuous improvement, efficiencies and ‘results’ orientated
- Ability to influence cross functional working across teams/sites
