A unique opportunity has arisen to head up a talented and successful swimming club with the guidance of our highly qualified and experienced Head Coach. In his 20th year at Skipton Swimming Club, our current Head Coach is looking to hang up his stopwatch and pass on his vast experience and skills to his successor.

This rare opportunity will allow for an Assistant Head Coach to be mentored and guided by our current highly experienced and passionate Head Coach and be involved in shaping the scheme as they transition from assistant head coach to head coach. and progress the successes of the Club. A great opportunity to train several British qualifiers and two current British Champions. This broad approach is flexible and can be tailored to the successful applicants’ needs.

Skipton Swimming Club has produced British Champions, along with numerous British and National Qualifiers every year, County and Regional and county champions and has swimmers on all three talent Pathways.

As an inclusive swimming club, the club has swimmers starting from Swim England LTS Aquatics Framework level 8 and above. The Club hold their own Time Trial Series throughout the year, an Annual Club Gala and attend various meets during the season.

We are seeking an ambitious, committed and experienced swimming coach to organise, develop and deliver a coaching programme to meet the needs of the whole club, enabling swimmers at all levels to reach their full potential with a view to taking on the full commitment and responsibilities of Head Coach over time.
- Be passionate about swimming and the development of children in the aquatic environment.
- Be enthusiastic, punctual, energetic
- Have the ability to adapt and be flexible
- Work alongside others, support the Head Coach and be self-motivated when required to work alone
- Be able to communicate well with both swimmers and parents where relevant
- Be able use excellent communication and organisational skills to maintain swimmer and parent focus.
- Show an interest in professional development and willingness to expand knowledge

**Responsible to**:Skipton Swimming Club Head Coach/Club Chairperson
**Hours of work**: to be negotiated around the club and coaches requirement
**Salary**: competitive/negotiable dependent on experience

**Qualifications**
- Minimum ASA/UKCC Level 2 Coaching swimming Qualification or Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate. (We will consider applicants with Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification or Level 2 Award in Teaching Aquatics if applicants are looking to complete their coaching certificates)
- Recent experience and knowledge of coaching/teaching swimmers within the stages of the Athlete Development Support Pathway (ADSP) - Learning to Train, Training to Train and above, in a club environment. Covering those age group swimmers, youth swimmers and those at County and Regional level.
- Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop Certificate / Online Renewal (We can assist in obtaining this.)

Skipton Swimming Club will undertake an enhanced DBS check for this post

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 10-20 per week

**Salary**: £15.00-£25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
