Ourcore business hours are Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm but we have a flexible approach to start and finish times.Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home. **About the role**:
This role is part of the management accounts team of four, within the wider finance team of 20+.The team prepares Hobbycraft’s monthly internal reporting, accounting journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

In addition, the team is responsible for preparing the annual budget and ensuring that the wider business manages expenditure within budgeted levels.

As a **Assistant Management Accountant,**you will assist the Senior Management Accountant with the above, focused on the accounting for Property costs relating to an estate of 115 sites.

**Your responsibilities as our Assistant Management Accountant will include**:

- Acting as the primary contact in respect of Property costs, liaising with third parties as required.
- Ensuring that costs are recorded accurately in the accounting system (Navision), with accruals and prepayments applied correctly, in the following areas:

- Rent, rates and service charges
- Insurance
- Utilities
- Repairs and maintenance
- Assisting in the budget process for all Property costs.
- Supporting with the accounting for capital expenditure relating to new stores.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end process.

**What we're looking for in our Assistant Management Accountant**:

- Experience of working in a financial environment, with an understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to work, taking full accountability for outputs.
- A committed team player who can work independently whilst remaining aware of the wider objectives of the tea

**Desirable**
- Microsoft Excel skills, with experience of working with formulas.
- Experience of operating in a multi-site business or a medium/large organisation.
- Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (such as AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
