Here at **Hobbycraft,**we are looking for an**Assistant Buyer** to join the team based at our Head Office in **Christchurch. **You will join us on a **full time, permanent **basis. Our core business hoursare Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm but we have a flexible approach to start and finish times. Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

**About the role**:
As our **Assistant Buyer,** you will be supporting the Buyer in the development of your ranges, ensuring products are improved in line with the range review plan.

**Your responsibilities as our Assistant Buyer will include**:

- Collating and managing samples
- Setting up new line information on the database
- Liaising with suppliers and maintaining accurate cost and retail prices
- Preparing daily and weekly store communication, working quickly and effectively to address and resolve any store or supplier issues
- Good organisational skills are essential in the preparation and maintenance of the buying calendar & critical path to keep the buying teams activities on track

**What we're looking for in our Assistant Buyer**:

- Previous experience working within a buying department would be an advantage.
- Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Office - Excel essential.
- Confident communicator at all levels
- Strong commercial acumen
- Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Passionate about our product and about putting the customer first
