We are looking for a confident **Physical Healthcare Support Worker** with a passion for delivering outstanding care.

You’ll be working** **40** hours a week** (working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday),with an experience RGN and Medical Team, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at **Cygnet Apple Tree Hospital**.**

Cygnet Appletree, near Durham, is a mental health hospital for women that includes Pippin Ward, a specialist PICU service and Bramley Ward, an acute service for women.

Our person-centred service has been designed with wellness in mind, providing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes efficient rehabilitation and recovery. We are dedicated to understand, stabilise and break the traumatic cycles of relapse that can impact service users’ lives.

**Your day-to-day**
- Support both management and team members in the day-to-day running of the service - report to both Physical Health Lead Nurse and Clinical Manager
- Ensure duties are allocated effectively and safely
- Support registered professionals with carrying out physical health interventions for patient when necessary; ECG and phlebotomy etc
- The post holder works as part of the ward / department team under the supervision of registered nurses and All members of the multidisciplinary team, including nursing and medical staff, support workers and administration and clerical staff and external agencies; GP staff, district nursing team and podiatrist.
- Participates in the delivery of patient centred care, maintaining a compassionate and professional attitude at all times.
- Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
- Provide guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support
- Learn about individuals’ specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
- Assist with medical & welfare needs and report as required

- Work cooperatively as part of the multi-disciplinary supporting patients with their physical health care needs/conditions and supporting staff with physical health care monitoring and occasionally liaising with external agencies.
