Edinburgh, United Kingdom Ark Full time

**Oxgangs Support Worker**

**Full time - 37 hours**

**£10.90 per hour**

Ark is a major provider of Housing, Care and Support to around 400 people with long term and enduring conditions such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, dementia and autism. Our aim is to ensure that those who use our services get the very best out of Ark to enable them to live as independently as possible and lead a happy life.

Oxgangs:
Oxgangs Service supports 9 people with a wide variety of support needs. All our supported people stay within 1 Cul-de-Sac meaning there is no travelling between supported people and there is always other staff nearby to support you. 3 of our supported people stay within a House of Multiple Occupancy while the other 6 supported people stay within their own homes.

There are good transport links with Lothian Buses 4, 5, 16, 27 & 400 all stopping within a couple of minutes walk of the Oxgangs Service.

Shifts at Oxgangs are usually 8 hours or more. These longer shifts allow you to work your hours over fewer days to support a better work life balance with more days off. At Oxgangs we work a one on one off rota to ensure that we can offer every second weekend off to our Support Workers. There are both waking nights and sleepover shifts at Oxgangs.

As a support worker at Oxgangs you will support people with a broad range of support needs. Your shifts will vary from day to day. One day you could be supporting someone with recycling and tidying their flat and the next day you could be supporting someone to attend activities out in the community.' - Fran, Care & Support Manager, Oxgangs

Ark is looking for dedicated and caring individuals who are committed to making a difference in our supported people’s lives. Your role will be to provide practical, emotional and social support. Ark offers a detailed induction and training programme designed to ensure you have all the skills you need for the job. - Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
- Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
