We are recruiting for a Design Studio Operative to join the Warlord Games Design Studio team. You will be working on a broad range of projects, designing a wide variety of items across digital and offline media. To be successful in this position, you’ll be a self-starter, capable of delivering cutting edge creative ideas, and display a strong attention to detail.

Although a formal education and/or background in graphic design and production would be advantageous, what is more important is your attitude; displaying a willingness to learn new skills and work off your own initiative where required, coupled with a commitment to quality control and the ability to manage your own time are far more important than proficiency with software.
- A strong eye for visual composition.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- An eagerness to learn new skills.
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Experience in a creative and production environment would be a bonus.
- Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and QuarkXpress, to develop and create innovative packaging, publications, web and logo designs.
- An understanding of marketing, production, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design would be beneficial.
- Adhering to in-house workflows, styles and norms including; file management, maintenance of folder structures and naming conventions, archiving, logging of assets, and rights permissions.
- Supporting Warlord Games’ sales teams with images of products for webstore and magazine publications.
- An interest in, and knowledge of both tabletop wargaming and/or military history would be advantageous, but not essential.

You will also be expected to perform the following tasks as part of the role:

- Preparation, updating, and coordination of the packaging reprints process.
- Coordinating with purchasing, marketing, and sales, as well as external suppliers as necessary.
- Preparing finished artwork for print by operating necessary equipment and software.
- Photography of miniatures and models for our packaging, web imagery and books.
- Liaising with licence holders.
- Liaising with the studio publishing manager where necessary.
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
- Communicating with colleagues about layout and design.
- Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
- Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as photoshop.
- Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.
