**Technical Sound Designer**

Deep Silver Dambuster Studios - creators of the TimeSplitters series alongside Second Sight, Haze, Homefront: The Revolution, and the number one smash hit Dead Island 2 - has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sound Designer to join our highly talented Tech Design team.

You’ll be:

- Creating, implementing and maintaining technical audio setups in Wwise and Unreal Engine.
- Working closely with the Audio and Technical Design teams to shape the technical architecture of the game's audio systems.
- Contributing to the majority of the game's features through their audio requirements.
- Acting as a bridge between creative and technical departments.
- Reporting to the Lead Technical Designer.

**Responsibilities**:

- Delivering high-quality audio implementations and scripting setups in Unreal Engine that allow the Audio team to build a great audio experience in levels.
- Assisting with Wwise project structure, organisation and parameter setups.
- Collaborating with other creative departments to understand their audio requirements and the needs of the game.
- Debugging audio setups in Wwise and Unreal Engine.
- Writing documentation for owned features
- Building test maps to demonstrate feature usage whilst providing test-beds for features
- Ensuring all audio implementations allow the audio vision for the game to be realised, whilst also adhering to the studio technical guidelines.
- Reacting to technical problems and workflow inefficiencies to keep the team moving
- Contributing to and maintaining the Audio and Technical Design team’s best practices
- **Note: this role does not include music composition**.

**Requirements**:
(Ideal)
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language, preferably visual (e.g. Blueprint).
- Experience of audio setup in Unreal Engine (or similar).
- Experience with Wwise (or similar)
- Proficient with industry-standard DAWs (Reaper, Pro Tools, Ableton etc).
- Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt communication styles for both technical and non-technical team members.
- Good technical understanding of how underlying systems and mechanics fit together to make a game.
- Good audio design skills.
- An eye for detail to drive the quality of game features to the highest standard.

(Desirable)
- Game development experience as a Technical Audio Designer (or similar position).
- At least 1+ shipped AAA title.
- Some knowledge of C++ and it’s principles.
- Experience buddy-checking other people’s work and providing constructive feedback.
