Full Time Supervisor/ Shift leader position available

An independent, busy, established cafe/bar overlooking the River Tyne requires front of house staff for full time or part time work.

You will be part of a friendly, close knit team who work hard but also have fun The company is growing so there is potential for quick progression within the role should the right person prove themselves to be an asset to the business.

The weekday and weekend shifts cover early, mid and late shifts. The cafe is open 9am - 6pm Mon-Thursday, 9am - 10pm Friday & Sat and 10-5pm Sundays. You would be expected to cover a range of shifts around these times and beyond.

SUPERVISOR ROLE responsibilities include:

- Being a key holder and securing the café during close shifts
- Smooth and efficient running of the day as per company standards (incl. organise staff breaks and positions, delegating tasks, planning and organisation)
- Oversee systems and procedures both front and back of house are completed on time and to company standard.
- Ensure that café staff provide a warm and welcoming environment and that customer service is efficient and outstanding
- Deal quickly and efficiently with any problems which may arise on shift (eg customer complaints, staff shortages, performance)
- Lead team briefings / staff handovers to motivate and inform your team of achievements and goals for the day ahead. Give positive encouragement, praise and motivation. Communicate the company goals and be an advocate for the management’s objectives.
- Assist in training new Front of House staff in all aspects and monitor their progress working alongside the General Manager
- Assist in managing stock control and waste
- Cash handling, float management and till reconciliation daily
- Keep management updated on any issues or concerns regarding any aspect of the running of the cafe
- Assist in general administration of the business where required including ordering, equipment maintenance.

Required experience:

- Customer Service: 1 year
- Front Of House / Waiting staff: 1 year
- Supervisory experience (for supervisor role): 1 year
- Barista / hot drinks preparation: an interest
- training will be given

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 12-35 per week

**Salary**: £10.80-£11.00 per hour
