**The User Experience Design team**

User Experience Design is a growing area of focus for us as a company and we’re working to transform our SaaS platform into a world leading solution for effective Product Stewardship of the use of chemicals in supply chains. We work in cross-functional teams where designers are paired closely with our business units, stakeholders, and software engineers throughout the product discovery, design and development process. We are looking for someone who wants to make a significant design impact on our organisation.

As a UX Designer, you’ll take responsibility for the interaction design activities and deliverables including task flows, wireframes, prototypes, design libraries and associated documentation, and planning for projects. You have a combination of hands-on design skills and the ability to guide the user experience. Ideally you pride yourself on having some front-end technical know-how, which helps you understand the development implications of your design decisions and enables you to iterate on prototypes to explore and illustrate ideas. Your clients look to you for insight and design expertise.

**Responsibilities**
- Define the conceptual strategy, task flows, wireframes, prototypes, design libraries and associated documentation for projects.
- Create and maintain style guides, design specifications and other UX documentation.
- Provide coaching and mentoring for members of the User Experience Design team.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Subject Matter Experts, and the development team to define direction and requirements.
- Be involved in every part of the design process - pre and post launch.
- Support team members across projects to ensure that the quality of deliverables meet client expectations and Yordas standards.
- Keep current with technologies and methodologies that allow for more innovative and dynamic approaches.

**Essential Skills**
- Deep knowledge of user interface design principles and web design best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to design complex, data-heavy interfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to develop big ideas and execute against them in a highly collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated experience using web analytics data to inform design decisions.
- Expertise in design and collaboration tools such as Miro and Figma (or similar). Hands-on experience with other software such as the Adobe Creative Suite. Sketch, Axure, or similar
- Attention to detail and high-quality standards whilst being pragmatic and delivering at pace

**Desirable Skills**
- Experience/knowledge in front-of-the-front-end web development (ie, HTML & CSS)
- Familiarity with Agile methodology as it applies to the design process
- Conducting usability research with customers and subsequently iterating on designs
- An appreciation of current and emerging UX trends along with their potential benefits and limitations

**Education and Experience**
- 3+ years experience designing customer-oriented web-based and digital interfaces.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in a related field, with a demonstrated mix of education and experience.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, demonstrating how user research and analysis have been used to support the design decisions
- Excellent organisation skills with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with the ability to adapt to changes in project priorities
- Excellent presentation and communication skills

**Additionally, it would be great if you**:

- Have an understanding of the chemical using industries and the regulatory landscape
- Have experience working within manufacturing supply chains
- Have experience working on other B2B SaaS platforms
- Can travel to our offices at Lancaster University from time to time
