**Personal Advisor-Complex needs**

**(Voluntary position with potential for employment in the future)**

You’ll be supporting people who may have complex barriers to find sustainable employment in order to achieve independence. Improving the health and wellbeing of individuals through employment, providing high quality 1-2-1 (& group) work for people often with complex social & emotional needs.

We’re currently seeking a Volunteer Personal Advisor to support the delivery of our employment and skills programmes in our offices (or home-working). We are looking for someone with some experience in this area who is looking to build on this.

**Main duties/responsibilities include**:

- Working with & providing tailored support to individuals on a 1-2-1 basis and in group settings in order to help them achieve their goals.
- Assisting individuals overcome barriers, build confidence, improve wellbeing and enhance opportunities to find sustainable employment in order to achieve independence.
- Take in/source referrals, gather and process relevant information and liaise with internal/external services as appropriate.
- Complete initial individual needs assessments, agreed action plans, and subsequent & ongoing assessments for individuals using our services as required
- Provide a wrap-around & holistic service in line with the needs and aspirations of the individual whilst providing documentary evidence of support, & updating own small caseload regularly.
- To work as part of a team but have the ability to work independently and manage own workload in order to effectively support individuals move forward with their lives.
- Liaising with professionals from multiple agencies including mental health charities, substance abuse agencies, local authorities, DWP, and other statutory/voluntary agencies making external referrals as necessary.
- Implement and co-ordinate a timetable to include various activities/sessions, work placements, interviews, & workshops in order to help the individual on their journey towards sustained employment.
- Ensuring the service user fully understands their rights and responsibilities as service users
- Assisting service users with welfare and housing benefit issues as required, providing support with finance management or sign post as required and maintaining accurate and up to date records.
- Relevant knowledge of benefits associated with unemployed service users.
- Other duties commensurate with the post.

**Do you have some experience/knowledge of**: working/dealing with vulnerable individuals often with complex needs, support work, or similar, challenging behaviour, employer engagement, delivering training sessions, work placements, meeting targets, voluntary sector, Safeguarding, Microsoft Office?
