Hospitality Assistant

As a Hospitality Assistant for Ashdale Care Ltd, you’ll carry out a range of tasks to help us provide the quality care and support our residents deserve. No two days will be the same as you take on diverse responsibilities across; housekeeping, laundry and catering.
Working shifts between the hours of 8am and 6.30pm, you will work a varied workload, providing assistance to the breakfast team, catering team and housekeeping team.
You will work no more than 2 weekends per month as these are shared evenly and fairly across the team.
We are looking to recruit a full or part time worker with hours ranging from 25 - 40 hours per week.
Starting salary of £10.73 per hour.
**Summary of Responsibilities**
- **Catering**_
- To prepare and serve food in line with the weekly menu and carry out basic cooking when required.
- Clean and wash pots, pans and other kitchen utensils and items.
- To be aware of the residents’ dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
- Ensure that foods produced remain inclusive for all i.e., diabetics and those requiring a soft or pureed diet.
- Be alert to food allergies, intolerances, and preferences.
- To hold a suitable food and hygiene certificate and always demonstrate safe food practices.
- To dispose of waste correctly.
- To ensure that all food is used within the prescribed period, with particular attention paid to perishable goods.
- To contribute to the serving of food.
- Preparing and serving breakfast to residents, and where necessary, providing any essential nutritional support and assistance.
- Laying up, and cleaning any dining rooms, servery’s, etc.
- Carrying out preparation, such as salads and fresh fruit salads.
- During the day, prepare and serve refreshments as required i.e., afternoon tea trolley.
- Working as part of a hospitality team, the Catering Assistant will ensure that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance with the cleaning schedule to always provide a clean and hygienic environment.
- **Housekeeping**_
Working as part of a team, the Housekeeper will ensure that cleaning duties are carried out in accordance to the cleaning schedule and to provide a clean and welcoming environment for the residents, guests and visitors. This may include:
- To vacuum all carpeted areas.
- Cleaning of all sanitary ware in residents’ rooms using the chemicals supplied.
- Clean all hard floors, taking care to leave them in a safe condition and use warning signs as appropriate.
- To use all equipment safely and report and defects to a senior member of staff without delay.
- Empty all waste bins on a regular basis and dispose of the contents in a safe method.
- Clean mirrors and all surfaces to ensure they are dust free.
- Ensure safe working practice at all times paying particular attention to trailing electric leads and wet floors.
- Clean all communal areas on a regular basis.
- Clean all communal toilets and bathrooms on a regular basis.
- To dispose of waste correctly.
