Applications are invited for a part-time (2.5PA) Specialist in Breast Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The duties of the post include maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of breast cancer, breast disease and associated pathologies. To share with colleagues responsibility for the day-to-day management of the new and follow up patient clinics in the breast unit.

You will have completed a minimum of 12 years’ medical work (either continuous period or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification of which a minimum of six years should have been in a relevant specialty in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades. Equivalent years’ experience in a relevant specialty from other medical grades including from overseas will also be accepted.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Grade doctor to join our Breast Team of Consultants, Specialists, Specialty Registrars, Fellows, and Specialist Nurses.

We have a close working relationship with imaging, surgical and oncological specialities, and are actively involved in multidisciplinary clinical, research and educational activities.

The department is a self-contained facility providing one stop clinics for new referrals, assessments from the National Breast Screening Service, and follow-up clinics for prior patients.
