**Role overview**:
As a Specialist Support Worker you will play a pivotal role in assisting adults with various support needs to achieve their personal goals, develop essential life skills, and live independently. You will be part of a dynamic and caring team that values diversity, promotes inclusion, and fosters a supportive environment.
As a key player in our team and your responsibilities will include:
- Provide person-centred support to adults with diverse needs, including but not limited to autism., learning disabilities, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
- Collaborate with service users to create and implement tailored support plans, focusing on their unique aspirations, strengths, and areas of development.
- Assist individuals in acquiring and enhancing essential life skills, such as cooking, personal hygiene, budgeting, and household management.
- Offer empathetic and compassionate support to address emotional and psychological well-being, promoting mental health and resilience.
- Support service users with medication management, healthcare appointments, and maintaining overall health and well-being.
- Facilitate community participation and inclusion, enabling individuals to engage in social activities, access local services, and build meaningful relationships.
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and reduce challenging behaviours.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, documenting progress, incidents, and outcomes as required by regulatory guidelines.
- Work closely with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure holistic and coordinated care for service users.
This position is situated in Reading and easily accessible through major public transportation routes. The work schedule includes shifts from 8:00am to 4:00pm, 4:00pm to 10:00pm, and 10:00pm to 8:00am. Additionally, there are two sleep-ins required each week on a rotational basis.
**Specialist Support Worker Requirements**:
- Previous experience of working with social care (desirable)
- Driving license and vehicle (desirable)
- Satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Demonstrate willingness and capability to work various shift patterns, including weekends and public holidays, and participate in the company’s on-call system

**Salary**: £10.41-£11.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
