**We are recruiting for an experienced Accounts Assistant**

Based at our Mill Works offices at Hazeleigh, Essex.

**Accounts & Finance Division**:
Our Accounts & Finance dept provides accounting services and manages the finances of the company. They are responsible for paying bills, billing clients and customers, tracking company assets and expenditures and maintaining accurate records, providing strategic insights, and supporting informed decision-making, the Accounts & Finance division contributes directly to the company's financial stability, growth, and success.

**The Role**:
The key responsibilities and duties of the role will be:

- Posting bank transactions and reconciling the bank account.
- Raise sales invoices, send monthly statements and chase outstanding amounts.
- Post purchase invoices.
- Assisting with ad hoc payments.
- Calculation and posting of monthly inter-company invoices.
- Posting wages journals and controlling all payroll accounts monthly.
- Posting monthly journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
- Completing VAT returns.
- Credit Checking Potential Customers
- Completing Account Opening Forms
- Posting and reconciling credit card statements
- Producing Excel summaries and analysis schedules
- Controlling and posting the petty cash
- Other ad hoc accounts and administration duties as required

**About you**:

- Have a level 2/3 AAT qualification or similar experience (at least 2 years office accountancy experience)
- Knowledge of bank reconciliations and journals
- Good Knowledge of VAT required, knowledge of CIS scheme would be an advantage but not essential
- Ability to work autonomously and to strict deadlines
- Multi-tasker who remains calm and effective under pressure
- Able to build highly functional and collaborative working relationships
- Must hold a full driving Licence and have access to own transport, due to office location
