Accounts Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage our client's accounts department mailbox and promptly respond to email correspondence related to accounts demands.
- Input purchase invoices and credit notes into the purchase ledger.
- Act as the first point of contact on the accounts phone lines, resolving customer queries and providing exceptional service.
- Monitor and chase credit notes, resolving any queries that may arise.
- Process customer refunds and respond to sales and purchase ledger queries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including sending out customer statements.
- Play an active role in fraud control and monitor customers on hold.
- Reconcile bank statements for multiple accounts and reconcile supplier statements.
- Update sage records and perform general administration duties.
- Collaborate with the customer services and sales teams to resolve any customer issues.
- Communicate effectively with the team to prioritise workload and ensure efficient operations.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in accounts payable and receivable, or relevant qualifications.
- Experience in an inventory-based business is an advantage.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Competent in Microsoft Outlook and intermediate use of Excel for data analysis and report creation.
- A self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who can work well with customers and colleagues at all levels.
- Experience with Sage is highly advantageous.
