**About the College**
- Middlesbrough College is the largest General Further Education College in the Tees Valley and has been situated in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, since 2008. It has developed from the initial main site to the vibrant campus that is now in place with our Campus Heart, dedicated Sixth Form, STEM Centre, Higher Education Centre, and further development for our apprentices in progress.
- The College provides excellent facilities for approximately 13,000 students from across the region and whilst we are very proud of our campus and the equipment our students have access to, we are clear that it is the experience and dedication of our staff that make a positive difference to the lives of our students, helping them to achieve their educational goals and progress into work, higher education, or apprenticeships.
- In 2020/2021, 96% of learners following a study programme attained a positive destination into further training, apprenticeship, or employment. **About the role**
Are you a dynamic leader passionate about digital innovation in education? Are you ready to shape the future of networking in a college environment? We are seeking a talented Networking, Comms & Telephony Team Leader to join our esteemed Digital Services Team at Middlesbrough College.
As the Networking Team Leader, you will spearhead a team of skilled professionals responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our college's networking infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, compliance and scalability of our digital networks, enabling transformative learning experiences for our diverse student body
**Qualifications**
- Grade C or above in Maths or English (or equivalent) - Essential
- Relevant IT qualification at Level 4 - Essential
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+) - Desirable
**Knowledge & Skills**
- A strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and technologies.
- Extensive knowledge of networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Proficiency in network security principles and practices, with experience in implementing robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
- A drive to lead and develop your team from apprentices to engineers, identifying skills needs, training courses and development opportunities.
- To have good time management, administrative and organisational skills.
- To be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the College’s Core Values.
- To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults within the College.
- An ability to work well as a member of a team.
- Commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
**Experience**
- 2 Years’ experience working in an equivalent IT role - Desirable.
- Experience of exceeding customer expectations and commitment to excellence - Essential
- Proven experience in leading and developing networking teams - Desirable
- Experience of working within an IT Department providing service to a variety of customer areas - Essential.
- Experience of using networking tools for LAN, WAN, Security & Compliance.
- Experience of working to Service Level Agreements - Essential.
- Experience of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library
