Living Well Consortium is recruiting for a Community Psychological Wellbeing Assistant. The post holder will deliver groups and workshops across Birmingham as part of a two year project aiming to support beneficiaries in fostering social and emotional skills.

The aim of the project is to empower beneficiaries and support them in working towards long term outcomes such as community engagement, improved mental health, increased self-esteem, and academic success. The role will involve delivery of a wide range of interventions and the post holder should ensure that these are inclusive.

The role involves travel across the wider Birmingham area and therefore is not suitable for homeworking only.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assess and support beneficiaries with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery.
- Deliver a range of interventions, wellbeing groups, and workshops to beneficiaries across various locations in Birmingham.
- Welcome beneficiaries and create an impactful and valuable learning experience for them, contributing to the overall outcomes of the project.
- Appropriately plan and organise outcomes-focussed activities to engage beneficiaries underpinned by methods of supporting young people to overcome individual social, educational and emotional barriers and create personal development plans.
- Establish a positive and interactive relationship withbeneficiaries.
- Help beneficiaries to develop or begin to develop life skills and to accomplish specific goals.
- Provide awareness of community, educational and economic resources available beneficiaries and their families, and how to access these resources.
- Complete specific tasks as directed by your line manager.
- Work with beneficiaries to identify ways of improving their wellbeing.
- Ensure that detailed documentation and records are kept for beneficiaries.
- Participate in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of service delivery.
- Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales.
- Actively engage with beneficiaries, colleagues, and other delivery partnersto ensure open channels of communication_._
- Form good partnerships, working with beneficiaries, colleagues, other delivery partners,Local Authorities, voluntary agencies, and community groups.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
- Attend team meetings and planned supervision sessions.
- Attend training and development opportunities as identified to increase your skills.
- Report and document any incidents, accidents, complaints, or concerns, ensuring therelevant staff memberhas been informed.
- Complete all training necessary for the delivery ofinterventions, wellbeing groups and workshops.
- Follow safeguarding procedures.
- Undertake training as required by the organisation.
- To work within organisations policies and procedures.
- Undertake such other duties commensurate with the role.
- To understand and work with the ethos, aims and objectives of LWC.

**Person Specification and experience**
- Arelevant degree or clinical qualification such as a psychology degree.
- Proven knowledge, understanding and experience in working alongside a range of communities and their various multicultural needs.
- Passionate, committed, and self-motivated.
- Experience in delivery of, range of interventions, wellbeing groups and workshops to a range of audiences if communities.
- Non-judgemental and empathetic.
- Excellent IT proficiency including full competence using Microsoft Office Suite, e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and understanding of confidentiality and always maintains discretion.
- Proactive self-starter with a positive and energetic approach to work
- The ability to prioritise tasks and work to tight deadlines.
- The ability to reporting on the progress of projects and how the project is progressing towards its aims.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsin one to one and group situations.
- Confident communicator at all levels
- Effective time management and workload management
- Empathy with the aims and values of the organisation
- Commitment to continuous improvement including own professional development.
- Willingness to be flexible and dynamic as organisation needs change.
