We are looking for a qualifiedPsychological Wellbeing / Education Mental Health Practitioner, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who is adaptable and enjoys a challenge. As part of its commitment to provide an outstanding model of Eating Disorder Care & Treatment for the young people and families of Birmingham, the Forward Thinking Birmingham, Specialist Eating Disorders Service (SEDS) is seeking to recruit a enthusiastic and committed Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our expanding service. SEDS is a well-established, dynamic team, committed to delivering quality evidence-based interventions to people eating disorders, including ARFID. This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced PWP/EMHP to work within our existing, innovative Eating Disorder Service, as well as support the development of our new, exciting Feeding and Eating Difficulties pathway.

The post holder will conduct psychological assessments, individual therapy, and group work. Assessments and interventions may be delivered via digitals platforms or face-to-face. You would also be expected to deliver psychoeducational workshops and work with established links within voluntary service and charitable organisations. You will receive regular BABCP accredited clinical supervision and support from a qualified CBT therapist and work closely with other clinical practitioners within the team.

SEDS is an established and ambitious community ED mental health team who remain keen to drive forward service improvements through research in our specialist area. We are proud of our commitment to early intervention and our membership of the FREED network. We have strong links with the University of Birmingham, Warwick University and Kings College London. We also work closely with BEAT and the Health Innovation Network in order to co-produce and contribute to ongoing initiatives designed to improve access and enhance ED care and treatment. As part of this approach, all staff and managers are trained in evidence-based psychological approaches, with a focus on working with communities and systems to provide early intervention, promote hope and support recovery. The post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to these principles.
