**Hours**:
Full time - (38 hours on a rota basis - Mon-Sun)
**What does Support Work involve?**
As a support worker you will help people with learning disabilities to live safe, fulfilling, and dignified lives in supported accommodation or their own home. We have positions available across a variety of services in Hampton areaWe support people with a range of support needs from young adults to elderly people; with dementia, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism/mental health. We also operate outreach services for people who live more independently. We work on a rota which includes working some weekends, early and late shifts. If you prefer to work nights, we also have some services with waking night shifts.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To be able to work positively with vulnerable people including young people and those with disabilities. To support people to reach to reach their goals and aspirations.
- To treat service users with dignity and respect, communicating effectively to meet their diverse needs.
- Work in line with the client's values and their competencies
- To contribute to the effectiveness of the team and the service through effective team working and communication.
- To work shifts including sleep ins and waking nights, where required
- Support service users to take their medication
- Personal care
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
- NVQ 2 or willing to work towards Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Knowledge/awareness of the needs of the specific client group
- Knowledge of practice issues relating to the specialist area of service.
- Able to work flexibly in line with staffing/rota requirements of the scheme
- Able to work effectively as part of in a team
- Experience in a simiar role is desirable and and also living in the area.
