**DAY SUPPORT WORKER**

**Normanton, WF6**

A specialist transition service for young adults transitioning from children to adult services, people who are at risk of placement breakdown or placed out of area looking for a roadmap to greater independence through positive risk-taking, person-centred planning and holding the people we support at the centre of our work.

A 10 bed residential service providing 24 hour care and support to the individuals who reside with us.

**Salary**: £11.44

Experience required at least 6 months

**Experience in a similar role is mandatory**

The successful applicant will be required to remain awake and support individuals using the service overnight so we are able to offer 24 hour support.

**The Role among other responsibilities you will**:

- Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting Residents when required with all aspects of daily living
- Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs, e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual
- Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring Residents retain their comfort and dignity
- Observe care planning needs for Residents and completed daily records as instructed
- Assist in framework of social activities by interacting with Residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Centre
- Report on well-being of Residents
- Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents and Relatives e.g. wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles etc

**What We Are Looking For**:

- Relevant experience within the mental health or care sector
- An understanding of mental health crisis
- Knowledge of a Psychological Informed Environment Preferable, although training will be provided
- Ability to engage in 1-2-1 and group conversations
- Experience of using de-escalation methods
