Established in 1968, Hughes Safety Showers is a leading manufacturer of industrial emergency safety showers, eye/face wash and decontamination equipment. Our office and manufacturing facilities are located in the UK, Canada, USA and Germany and work alongsidea global network of distributors.

We are now looking for a **Continuous Improvement Manager**to join our talented team.

**About the Role**:
As Continuous Improvement Manager, you will be responsible for collecting production data, analysing outputs and determining corrective courses of action to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.

Tasked with investigating, sourcing and developing solutions to production issues, you will lead site operations that improve manufacturing efficiencies by utilising lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement ensuring the engagement and involvement of the entire team to improve output, OTIF and overall quality.
- Develop a roadmap and a master schedule for lean implementation.
- Lead and drive improvement activities across all aspects of production through Measurement, Analysis, Improvement and Control to continually improve the production process.
- Provide tactical coaching and training of staff ensuring that they develop Lean Methodology and Continuous Improvement Techniques (Six Sigma).
- Proactive problem solving by leading and supporting root cause analysis (A3) when production issues arise. Suggest corrective and preventative actions and ensure that these are appropriately documented and approved.
- Conduct optimisation studies and detailed analysis of existing production cells facilities, systems & processes.
- Support the management of the site maintenance programme to ensure that all process equipment and facilities are kept safe and compliant.
- Contribute to the 5S initiative to ensure that improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business.
- Ensure the factory layout is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process.

**Technical Skills**:

- Ability to lead cross functional teams and host Kaizen events.
- A sharp eye for identifying weak points in processes and organisational structures.
- A strategic and analytical mindset.
- Strong understanding of Production processes.

**Required Qualifications and Experience**:

- Deep knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma - green belt or black belt qualification a plus.
- Experienced in A3 problem solving, VSM, TPM and Kaizen.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations, Business Management, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- MRP/ERP experience a must, knowledge of SAGE 200 preferred.
- IT / Digital skills.
- Proven experience in lean manufacturing (mechanical) / CI.
- Demonstrable experience in working with operations to enable cost savings and product quality improvement.
