**The Vacancy**

We are looking to recruit a Stock Management Officer within our Housing Options Service to improve how we manage our social housing stock. In the event of a tenant’s death, non-occupation or property abandonment, the Officer will work across different service areas to ensure that actions to formally end tenancies are prioritised, driven forward and completed with mínimal avoidable delays. The Officer’s responsibilities will include:

- Working proactively with teams and the customer to ensure that properties can be let again as soon as possible.
- Facilitating regular case meetings to seek solutions with individual cases where issues arise.
- Ensuring that teams and the customer complete all of the required paperwork promptly to enable cases to progress.
- Ensuring that all cases are tracked and monitored, to show how many cases are at each stage in the process, and to show how long it has taken for cases to be resolved from the initial notification.
- Working with teams within the Housing Management and Housing Options Service to identify suitable properties for discretionary successors who have been assessed as eligible to obtain vacant possession of the property that they are currently under-occupying.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience of working with stakeholders (including managers) across different teams to deliver challenging projects or initiatives within tight timescales.
- Experience of assisting customers with complex issues and delivering outcomes that benefit the customer and the service.
- Experience of using IT systems such as a CRM when assisting customers
- Experience of working in social housing
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to communicate and influence effectively at different levels in writing and in speech. This is needed as the role will involve you briefing teams and managers on specific cases, problem solving for customers, mediating between teams, and conveying complex information in a clear and concise way.
