St Margarets Nursery & Pre-school are currently looking for a full time kitchen assistant/apprentice to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career as a cook with sociable hours Monday to Friday - no evening or weekend work required.

We are looking for someone to work Monday-Friday, hours negotiable between 8am - 4:30pm. This is permanent position. Starting date is also negotiable.

The job consists of supporting our cook with the preparation of meals for over 120 children per day. The kitchen assistant/apprentice would also cover our cooks annual leave with full training and support.

We provide organic, home cooked meals for every sitting. We receive two fresh shopping deliveries per week from Sainsburys.

The children (and staff) are provided with breakfast, morning snack, two course lunch (starter and main or main and dessert) and then a substantial afternoon snack. We follow a 3 week rolling menu with changes seasonally.

The job will also consist of handling children’s allergies and dietary requirements, cleaning dishes, maintaining and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas, preparing and serving meals, and occasionally setting up tables and chairs for 2 separate sittings.
