**Job overview**:
**We are pleased to advertise a full time, Band 3 FIT Test Coordinator - Colorectal to work at Salford Royal Hospital which is part of the Northern Casre Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.**

Working with the Colorectal Cancer Services Management Team, the post holder will support improvement in Lower GI suspected cancer pathways through the facilitation and coordination of FIT results which is now an essential element within this pathway.

Tasks will include monitoring referrals and whether FIT tests have been requested via the GP, mailing out FIT kits where necessary, and contacting patients to urgently return their FIT samples. The role will include gathering data on FIT utilisation and providing the necessary information for real time feedback to primary care and locality commissioning teams.

The post holder will be key to ensuring that data is captured accurately in both the electronic patient record and the Somerset Cancer Register, and collating data for local audits on timeliness of FIT results.

**Main duties of the job**:

- To follow processes to ensure a FIT result is available for all patients referred to the Trust on a lower GI suspected cancer pathway- To ensure that all data and FIT reports are acted upon and the data captured on SCR- To liaise with various departments to obtain all information required for data collection and FIT reporting- To ensure that all deadlines are met to ensure patient pathways are not compromised- To work with the MDT coordinators and trackers to help manage Lower GI pathways whilst avoiding duplication- To assist in the validation of all data relating to FIT testin- To use the Trusts Cancer Registry system and Microsoft Office tools i.e. Excel spread sheets to add and manage relevant date pertaining to waiting times, audit and FIT data- To assist and provide administrative and clerical support to the cancer services management team as required- To carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by the cancer services management team.**Working for our organisation**:

**Essential criteria**:

- Maths and English GCSE’s at grade C or equivalent

**Desirable criteria**:

- 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English at grade C or equivalent
- NVQ 3 in Health or Social care or equivalent
- Evidence of continued role development and willingness to learn and develop

**Experience and skills**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Previous administrative and organisational experience
- Good organisational and administrative skills with ability to prioritise workload and exhibit high level of concentration.
- Computer literate with good knowledge and understanding of computer packages and databases, e.g. Microsoft Office
- Ability to use own initiative, with a flexible, proactive approach
- Can work well under pressure and remain calm in difficult situations
- Excellent customer care practice, being polite, sympathetic, patient, professional and diplomatic
- Reliability and good time keeping

**Desirable criteria**:

- Previous experience of working with the public and/or patients in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge and experience of using Trust IT/patient record/information systems, e.g. Medway, CRIS, CWP
