Charity People is delighted to partner with the Salvation Army to find a keen Database Assistant. The Database Assistant role sits within the Marketing & Fundraising Department which is responsible for raising over £100 million a year from the SalvationArmy supporter database. You will play a vital role within this context as the team is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the supporter database, for providing supporter data to the fundraising teams to contact and for reporting on fundraising campaigns.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Maintain the accuracy of the supporter database through regular data cleansing, merging and de duplication of records, to ensure data quality and integrity at all times and adherence to GDPR requirements
- Import supporter data from a range of external sources ensuring accurate data capture
- Export supporter data from the Fundraising CRM database for post donation fulfilment
- Check data files before they are sent to fundraising teams or external suppliers to ensure the data selection is accurate and meets the brief
- Support the fundraising teams to achieve their objectives by providing reports and analysis
- Provide training support to the Fundraising Database Assistant Manager
- Work with the Database & Donor Services Manager and team to create, develop and document up-to-date procedures for data entry, importing, and checking data
- Stay up-to-date with changes in the regulatory environment e.g. Fundraising Regulator Codes, ICO guidance, DMA code updates etc.
**Required**
- Previous good experience of working successfully in a similar role with a focus on data quality and integrity
- Good knowledge and experience of working with CRM databases undertaking activities including exporting/importing data and running standard reports
- Demonstrable good experience with MS Office, particularly Excel at intermediate or advanced level, Outlook and Teams
- Excellent data skills with high attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
- Demonstrable good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information to customers/colleagues in a clear, effective and professional manner
- An ability to work across simultaneous projects with a wide variety of stakeholders and prioritise your own workload effectively to meet set deadlines
- A self-motivated team player who thrives working as part of a small, collaborative team
