The Digital Supervisor is embedded within the Investigations Command and will manage and support the Police Digital Investigators (PDIs). The post-holder will oversee the digital strategy function, reporting on performance and issues to the Detective Inspector.

The post-holder will be accountable for the environmental scanning of the latest technology available to ensure the Police Digital Investigators exploit all available intelligence and data across multiple areas of business.

The post-holder will also ensure the Police Digital Investigators lawful acquisition of digital data and provision of support to investigations and operations.

Applications are invited for the above post in the Investigations Department at Broadland Police Station and should be submitted covering your suitability for the role, considering the advertised criteria. Submissions should be no more than 1000 words in total.

The role holder may occasionally be required to spend time at other locations.

**It is essential that applicants meet the following criteria**:

- Significant skills in data visualisation, data interpretation, analysis, and coding. Skilled in using specialised software relating to digital media for analysis and reporting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build appropriate working relationships with other teams in high pressured environments (e.g., investigation, prosecution, digital forensic teams)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present and communicate information clearly and accurately to individuals at all levels
- Experience of high-pressured situations with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads without supervision
- Day to day people management skills e.g., managing performance, coaching, distributing work, managing, and resolving issues
- Understanding the implications of retaining digital data for intelligence purposes and the implications for its use as evidence in subsequent investigations and prosecutions
- Knowledge of how digital data can be used as evidence to show corroboration, correlation, common purpose, chronology, similar fact evidence, presence etc
- Ability to convert complex data into easily visualised formats to communicate information clearly and accurately to individuals of all levels and to varied audiences
- A thorough understanding of research methods and ability to fully utilise these for a range of projects
- Ability to travel as required within Norfolk and Suffolk and country wide as appropriate

**It is desirable that applicants meet the following criteria**:

- Possess a detailed understanding of working procedures, practices and policies such as MOPI, Data Protection Act, RIPA, Disclosure and Evidence, Criminal Procedures Investigation Act, Human Rights Act, CPIA
- Investigative skills and a mind-set of making the complex simple to understand
- Experience of working in a digital and data driven environment and maintaining personal knowledge of emerging concepts and adapting accordingly

Hours of work are 37 per week Monday to Friday. This post is offered on a temporary basis.
