Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response

The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (WAST) have an exciting opportunity to recruit a new Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) Officer, covering the South East region of Wales.
The successful applicant should display experience in EPRR, previous experience in the pre-hospital environment is not essential.
The post will be based at Vantage Point House in Cwmbran, but flexible working will be permitted based on workloads and priorities with agreement with line manager. The postholder will also be expected to travel across the Trust area as required for the role.
Key member of the Operations - EPRR and Special Operations Team responsible for supporting the EPRR Managers and the Service Manager EPRR & Specialist Operations, fulfulling Civil Contingencies obligations on behalf of the Trust. The post holder will also work collaboratively with the wider department to ensure effective planning, preparedness and maintaining compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act (2004), as well as leading any projects deemed suitable.
Providing a support role to the EPRR Managers and the Service Manager EPRR & Specialist Operations, ensuring their local resilience forum(s) statutory and legislative obligations are fully met;
Supporting strategic service development and implementation of arrangements that underpin business continuity and prevention of organisational disruptive challenges in their respective region. This may include: identification of critical services across the Region in particular areas/localities; identifying risks which could lead to service disruption and exploring methods to overcome service disruption with the expert service providers.
Supporting the regions departmental Business Continuity leads in the development of their local capability arrangements.
Assisting with the planning and coordination of Event planning requirements in their region. This will include attending Event Safety Advisory Groups to ensure the ambulance service is appropriately represented and that the relevant legislation and guidance is considered.
