Warehouse and Purchasing Assistant

**WAREHOUSE & PURCHASING ASSISTANT**

We have an opening for a bright, enthusiastic and professional person to join our busy team. This is a new and varied role which will involve the overseeing of in bound/out bound stores stock along with the general administration of stores purchasing.

**Company Information**:
West Country Stoves is based in Aveton Gifford, nr Kingsbridge and part of the Rangemoors group. We’re an appointed supplier for premium brand British & European stoves, fires and flue systems. The core business is the supply and installation of wood, gas and electric stoves and fires within the dealership areas to individuals and business to business. There is a large showroom with over 50 stoves on display and a range of other associated fire/stove related products.

**Stores Role**:

- Unloading and loading vehicles to go to site - this can include the movement of bulky and heavy items.
- Checking deliveries against advice notes and for quality, quantities & damage.
- Picking stock for installations and preparing jobs for the coming week.
- Keeping the stores safe, clean and tidy.
- Administrative support in the purchasing of flues/chimney liners and stove parts. Ordering parts and showroom stock directly from manufacturers.
- Regularly reviewing supply alternatives to ensure best value is always achieved.
- Ensuring administration procedures are followed.
- Processing of stock in the stores for parts flue/chimney liners and showroom stock.

**Shop Role**:

- Answering the phone and serving customers when other members of staff are busy.
- Booking site visits on to the calendar, either from customers coming into the shop or enquiries taken over the phone
- Covering the Saturday shop rota, one Saturday in five, 10am to 3pm.

**Skill Requirements for this Role**:

- Stores management experience an advantage, but not essential.
- Full, clean driving licence - **forklift qualifications an advantage but not essential**.
- Good time management skills and attention to detail.
- Positive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
- A positive and friendly manner at all times, ability to talk and listen to customers whilst in the shop

**Training**:
Training will initially be provided by West Country Stoves for this role. However, there will be the opportunity to attend manufacturers product training courses.

Being a small business we are looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude who is happy and willing to get stuck in to all aspects of the business. This is a full time position Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, and 1 Saturday in 5 covering the shop 10am - 3pm. Salary: £21,000 to £24,000, depending on experience.
