We do this by engaging with users, building digital products, training our clients and much more to effect positive change together.
Snook started as a service design agency in 2009. Over more than 10 years, we have evolved into a talented multidisciplinary team and scaled to more than double our original size. We’re approaching over 70 amazing Snook’s who are based in our Glasgow and London studios alongside a growing remote team. And we’ve worked with brilliant clients - from Cancer Research UK and the NHS to Hackney City Council and the Scottish Government.
- **Location**:This is a UK home-based role. This role can be done remotely, with the option to work in our London or Glasgow studios. You may be asked to visit client offices, Snook or NEC sites for meetings, from time to time
- **Contract**:Permanent
- **Salary: UK**:From £75,000 depending on experience
- **Hours**: Full Time

- **This role requires Security Clearance. You must have resided in the UK continuously for the past 5 years.**

We’re looking for a Head of Research who can:

- Build, lead and develop a team capable of undertaking high quality research into complex societal issues.
- Provide leadership across the research team, supporting and inspiring them to do their best work.
- Support the senior leadership team to grow and develop the organisation in line with our company strategy.
- Be a voice of Snook’s values and story on the outside of the organisation
- Bring an optimistic and entrepreneurial mindset to our work, supporting your peers in the Senior Leadership Team to spot and enable new business opportunities, and provide support with creating proposals and pitching for new business.

**Qualifications**:
We’re keen to hear from a range of applicants who can demonstrate some, or all, of the following skills and experience:

- Exceptional case studies/portfolio that demonstrates strategic direction of complex research projects in an agency environment.
- Experience of delivering research training to user researchers, and across other disciplines.
- Expertise in a wide range of research activities and methods.
- A strategic thinker, able to clearly communicate your vision and goals.
- Experience of leading and growing a research team, managing and motivating researchers.
- Able to inspire your team and encourage collaborative approaches to research.
- Experience of leading or being a part of agile, multidisciplinary project teams.
- Expertise in ethical and inclusive research practices.
- Experience of collaborating with design and development teams.
- Demonstrable experience of being a leader in your field and driving best practice.
- Experience of writing new business proposals and pitching for new client work.
- Experience of working with public sector organisations, such government, local authorities, and charities (desirable).
- Experience of working to GDS standards
