**Combined Role of Patient Care Advisor and clinical administrative Assistant**

Niddrie Medical Practice

The posts are for 20-40 hours each worked over either 4 or 5 days, Monday to Friday. The practice opening hours are 8am to 6pm with occasional extended hours cover needed between 7:30am and 6:30pm.

**Salary between 22-26,000 depending on skills and experience**

**Experience and Knowledge**
- GP Practice experience or experience in a similar role or NHS setting
- Previous experience in reception duties
- Customer service experience
- Good level of computer skills
- Use of Vision, Docman, SCI
- Gateway
- Experience of working within a GP surgery
- Coding knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Word

**Skills and/orAbilities**
- Well developed keyboard skills
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Manage time effectively, prioritising work to meet competing demands

**Specific Clinical Administrative Assistant duties**
- To add new patient / temporary patient registrationsto computer system and code relevant information.
- Read and deal appropriately with all clinical DOCMAN workflow including coding appropriate clinical information and forwardto relevant clinicians if appropriate.
- File low riskanddocuments of low informative value without further workflowingto clinicians.
- Prepare all incoming medical reports and SAR’s requests. Provide initial response to requests for access to medical records in compliance with the practice policy. Send out invoices and monitor payments as required. Send out or arrange collection of completed reports.
- Complete medical reports with objective data as recorded in the patient’s notes prior to passing the report for a clinical opinion to the relevant clinician.
- Be actively involved in the administration for the practice care and support planning for patients, including sending letters out and maintaining spreadsheets. Liaise with lead GP and provideadministration support as required.
- Maintain an accurate record of patients suitable for inviting to participate in student teaching. Plan and invite suitable patients. Liaise with lead GP and provide administration support as required.
- Adhere strictly to the confidentiality policy of the surgery and perform appropriatecheckson the identity of anyone seeking information.
- Summarise patient notes and read code correspondence as required.
- Complete practice audits as required.
- Database searches and gathering of information for clinical purposesas requested.
- Any other administrative duties required by the GP Partners or Practice Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the clinic.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
- Manage staff and ensure their performance meets expectations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the budgeting process for the clinic.
- Ensure that patient records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Develop strategies to improve patient care.

**Salary**: £21,478.00-£25,000.00 per year
