**The Team**:
Teneo’s Strategy and Research team helps organisations to devise evidence-based strategies that build trust, protect reputation, and drive growth. As such, we tend to draw heavily on qualitative and quantitative research and statistical data analysis where possible to drive the development of our projects.

We help organisations to:

- determine where audiences stand on client-critical issues and what drives their perceptions
- define the shape of key audience segments, gaining a deeper understanding of where they are, what they like, and how to reach them
- identify and unpack the reputational positioning required to achieve client objectives: their ‘winning territory’
- devise strategies to help clients reach their winning territory by focusing on the arguments that influence both perception and behaviour

**The role**:
An Associate Consultant in Teneo’s Strategy team is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to our clients. They play a key role in delivering quality work as part of a project team and ensuring agreed timelines on client projects are met (e.g. insight-led messaging and positioning, communications strategies informed by an understanding of what drives trust).

They work into and learn from our Senior Consultants, Associate Directors, Managing Directors and senior leadership. They demonstrate a collegiate and collaborative approach to working with others. Teams are built around individual projects and vary based on project scope and clients’ needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support the delivery of projects, including timeline, resource and budgets; with a forward view to anticipate needs and potential issues
- Conduct effective desk research, including using media and social media analysis tools (training will be given on tools)
- Support the team in conducting primary qual and quant research (e.g. managing third party suppliers, drafting discussion guides and questionnaires)
- Play a key role in analysing and interpreting research (qual and quant / desk research), and distilling research into insight
- Play a role in workshops / presentations (e.g. preparing materials for these, presenting back insights and helping to facilitate client discussions)
- Support on writing new business proposals, including research to inform these
- Build a strong network of effective relationships internally and externally
- Stay well informed and share knowledge with teams and clients

**Skills and experience**:

- Around 1-2 years’ experience; experience in a role related to communications, reputation or research is preferable but not essential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong project management skills
- Good attention to detail
- Appetite to build their own skills and knowledge
- Enthusiasm about research and insight - experience is desirable but not essential
- A positive, flexible and ambitious team player
- Academic training in the measurement of public attitudes and behaviours, in disciplines such as psychology, political science, marketing, statistics or economics is not essential but considered a plus
