We are looking for a Student Ambassador Officer, someone who is interested in the employment of students and helping provide exceptional experience to student ambassadors and prospective students/offer holders and visitors. They also need to be confident in learning and using different IT software, and enjoy opportunities to problem solve.

**The Opportunity**:
The Student Ambassador Scheme over the last couple of years has grown to over 150 Student Ambassadors. The scheme allows ambassadors to undertake work that fits around their studies and other commitments. This work ranges from campus tours, chatting on Unibuddy (peer-to-peer platform), supporting events online and in person, student panels and school specific work to name a few.

The Student Ambassador Officer has the exciting opportunity to organise and oversee the whole logístical journey of the bi-annual ambassador recruitment. This will require an attention to detail, creating clear processes for tracking and organising a number of moving parts and working with many stakeholders. The officer will also line manage the Graduate Student Voice Intern and share the line management of our 150+ ambassadors. Within this you will be supporting the day-to-day running of the scheme with the other Student Ambassador Officer.

Alongside this you will have the opportunity to coordinate two key activities that provide an insight into the student experience for prospective students:

- The day-to-day running of our campus visits (twice a week currently), with the Graduate Voice Student Intern, this includes advertising, updating booking system, deciding number of tours to run, creating the tour rota and reviewing the visitor experience.
- Oversee the running of Unibuddy, our peer-to-peer chat platform where anyone can ask questions of our ambassadors.

This role requires someone who feels confident in learning/using IT software, for example GeckoEngage, SharePoint and Excel. There will also be at times, challenges that require problem solving. Some examples include: working out how to coordinate large numbers of job interviews, not having an ambassador turn up to a shift, how to optimise the number of ambassadors you have available to the number of shifts required to fill.

There will also be the opportunity to support wider activity within the department and broaden your professional awareness of the wide remit of the Student Recruitment and Admissions department.

**Your skills and attributes for success**
- Experience with Human Resources, recruitment and line management
- Experience of problem solving in a changeable working environment
- An ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Strong IT skills in Microsoft programmes, in particular SharePoint and Excel.
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to adapt to changes in workload
- Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing, in person and online to a variety of audiences
- Passionate about the student experience
