**Job overview**:
To support the Assistant Finance Manager (AFM ) in the provision of timely and accurate financial information and support the Income and Financial Reporting Teams to meet their objectives. The post holder will support the maintenance of a financially sound contract monitoring system for all commissioned activity, supporting the organisation to maximise income and recover all relevant payments.

The post holder will assist in using the required systems to process data for analysis, interpretation, internal and external reporting to commissioners and other regulatory bodies.

The post holder will help to ensure that the monthly contracting reporting timetable is adhered to and will resolve any issues that arise throughout the monthly process to ensure that commissioner reports are distributed accurately and on time.

**Main duties of the job**:

- ECDL / or demonstration of computer literacy
- 5 GCSE’s including Math’s & English or equivalent
- NVQ Level 4 / Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Technician Level / NEBS Level 3; or equivalent experience

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Experience across in a finance function
- Able to discuss sensitive information with external stakeholders including financial and non-financial colleagues, gain their respect and influence their decisions
- Able to understand corporate and financial issues and advise managers accordingly
- Able to investigate financial queries from managers, analyse information to identify errors and offer options for resolution
- Able to make calculations for Contract Monitoring, Cost and Income purposes
- Able to plan workload and to ensure that timetables and other deadlines are met
- Able to work within a team to achieve objectives

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of management accountancy within the NHS
- Able to work in a multi
- disciplinary environment
- In depth knowledge of National payment currencies and NHS commissioning
- Knowledge and experience of computerised financial systems (Ledger). Financial coding structures
- Knowledge of legislation and regulations affecting the Trust financial regime
