Accounts Assistant

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established, family-run SME based in Castle Bromwich. Accounts Assistant responsibilities include reviewing and reconciling accounts, processing payments and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts.
Key duties and responsibilities...
- Maintaining excellent relationships with our Customer's finance teams
- Following up customer invoices as appropriate to ensure there are no queries and will be paid on time
- Producing aged debtors analysis weekly and identify accounts to watch - (All credit accounts, 30-60 days, run a weekly debtors report straight of sage, reconcile with remittance)
- Setting up new customer and supplier accounts on Sage and monitoring credit status alerts
- Assisting Accountants with Management Accounts by generating accruals, prepayments and journals
- Reconciling supplier invoices
- Ensuring all suppliers are paid on time (credit accounts, 30-60 days)
- Suggesting improvements in accuracy, efficiency and reducing costs
**Requirements**:
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in MS Office - (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent understanding of Sage accounting system
- 1+ years of previous experience as Finance Assistant or in a similar position
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Detail-oriented
- Must be trustworthy, accountable and obedient
- Must respect authority and all co-workers
- Physical Requirements
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must keep workplace tidy and clutter free
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplar
**Hours**: 8am-1pm Mon
- Friday (flexible) 5 hours a day
