Start a new career at **Five Rivers Child Care.** We are looking for a Fostering Support Worker to join our team in **Gloucester**, part of the **West Country Service**, you will be working with an experienced team and in a culture where children are valued, respected, and listened to and involved in as many decisions as possible.

A Fostering Support Worker is an exciting and important role involving a range of tasks working directly with children and young people, Foster Carers, and other professionals to ensure quality outcomes for children/young people.

You will be involved in participation events with our children, where you will be coordinating group work and activities in a skilled focused way as part of our agreed programme, supporting the hybrid working team in preparing the children and young people for their foster care placements and promoting the health and wellbeing of the children and young people

You will support our families throughout **Gloucester, Swindon and Reading.**

We are looking for someone who will always be thinking of the child, ensuring they are at the forefront of all decisions. be able to work as a team, able to communicate with children and adults. Experience of working in the fostering sector and/or children/young people would be an advantage but not necessary. No formal social work qualifications are necessary, but an understanding of and empathy for the work required is necessary.

You need to be able to drive for this role and have access to a car, be flexible as you may need to work occasional evenings and weekends and be committed to therapeutic training.

**Hours**

This is a Full Time Role of 37 hours per week

Monday to Thursday 9am -17:00pm and Fridays 9am - 16:30pm

You will need to be flexible for this role as you may need to work weekend & evenings

**Requirements**:

- Good written and IT skills.
- Able to communicate with children, colleagues, and external customers.
- Able to actively listen to others.
- Valid Driving Licence
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Therapeutic direct work with children, young people and carers preferred but not essential as training given
