**Interim Principal Planning Officer**

**Pay rate: £33.77 per hour PAYE**
- Prepare written statements and committee reports, including proofs of evidence in relation to a range of appeals, and present evidence at hearings, and public inquiries, and at court proceedings.
- Work with colleagues to prepare documents and negotiate contributions for developer section 106 contributions and securing Community Infrastructure Levy.
- Provide information and advice to identified businesses or individuals as detailed within a programme of work to ensure the appropriate action is taken to comply with planning legislation, policy and technical standards.
- Contribute to the development of others through sharing best practice and embedding new ways of working to improve service standards and delivery including supporting the decision making process under the general direction of the Service Managers.
- Give information and advice to businesses, the public and other stakeholders about legislative requirements and standards for compliance with planning legislation.
- Communicate effectively with developers, colleagues and members of the public, both verbally and in writing, through the appropriate use of site notes and other record keeping within information sharing protocols and record keeping policies.

- Significant practical experience of working within the service area, giving rise to a variety of technical skills and sound understanding of the standards, legal responsibilities, work practices and processes relevant to the role.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical standards, policy, safe working practices and legislation for the service area.

**Skills**:

- Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to successfully present information to a variety of audiences.
- A team player.
- Ability to prepare and present information/evidence clearly and confidently.
- Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
