This is a friendly and active environment, where you will lead the existing administrative team to support the range of inpatient services, that the department hosts. **Main duties of the job**:

- Provide an efficient and effective range of clerical and administrative services to support the activities of the AHP department
- Support and manage the clerical staff in the in-patient setting, booking and scheduling appointments, using a range of communication skills.
- Work flexibly with the admin team to cover all aspects of the AHP admin service.
- Contribute to team meetings providing feedback, to support service development

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**:
AHPs are the third largest clinical group in the NHS. In this context the services include Physio and Occupational therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Dietetics. The post holder is expected to provide day to day secretarial and administrative services employing advanced audio typing skills with the use of clinical terminology. The post holder will assist in the organisation of the inpatient services being guided by the O & P leads. In addition, the post holder will have line management responsibility for 3 x administrative staff.

The post holder will act as the first point of contact in all forms of communication for AHP Services and their teams and will be expected to organise and prioritise their own workload.

- Word processing - Qualified to RSA level III/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills (60+ wpm at 98% accuracy)
- ECDL or equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills
- English GCSE/‘O’ Level grade C or above/equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills
- Maths GCSE/’O’ Level /‘O’ Level grade C or above/equivalent qualification/demonstrable skills
