Cosmetic Dermatology Nurse Assistant

The role we are currently looking to fill is that of a Cosmetic Dermatology Nurse Assistant who primarily delivers nursing care under the supervision of the registered nurse, particularly helping while conducting cosmetic and non-cosmetic dermatology procedures for a diverse patient population. The sought-after qualifications include fluency in Spanish, substantial medical and dermatological knowledge and experience working within dermatology settings.
As a nurse assistant in this position, the individual will play a pivotal role in breaking down language barriers and ensuring that clear and meaningful communication is maintained with Spanish-speaking patients. The expertise in dermatology will be instrumental in offering tailored care for various skin conditions and fostering safety in the treatments we offer. Furthermore, their cultural connection will empower them to establish trust and meaningful relationships with Latin American patients, thereby enhancing the overall quality of the patient experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides support to registered practitioners such as registered nurses, or doctors within
the practice providing high standards of care in various nurse-led follow-ups:
- Dressing change
- Wound checks
- Photography.
- Record biographical details of individuals in manual and computerised records.
- To support patient pathways in dermatology and participate in the management
and monitoring of the patients (Carries out observations (weight, temperature,
pulse, BP).
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Support communication with patients (English and Spanish:
- Guide patients safely through their visit within the practice.
- Assist patients with the completion of the documentation.
- Provide specific dermatology advice and support via telephone/directly.
- Communicating complex and sensitive information.
- Provide education and resources for patients and staff members.
- Provide advice to patients in aftercare, and recommendations.
- Practice operation, quality, safety, and hygiene:
- Plan and organise own workload to meet clinic and patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with Clinic policies and procedures.
- Practice multidisciplinary team care and contribute actively towards its successful
management.
- To embrace new technology and practice which will support patient care.
- Prepare specific equipment required within the clinic room before clinical
procedures, using decontamination techniques.
- Maintain a safe environment in line with infection control policy.
- Conduct mandatory safety checks (clinical equipment).
- Maintain and monitor clinical stock and equipment within the department,
reporting any deficit or maintenance required.
- Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of the clinic rooms.
- Clinical Waste Disposal.
The following skills and experience are relevant to the role:
- Experience:
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience within cosmetic, private
dermatology practices.
- A minimum of one year of experience working in private medical settings.
- Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and dermatological conditions
- Familiarity with dermatological procedures and equipment
- Healthcare background - medical knowledge.
- Healthcare background - cosmetic dermatology knowledge.
- English and Spanish fluency.
- Strong clinical skills
- Personal:
- Effective communication skills in English and Spanish
