An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 7 (37.5hr per week) Clinical Educator Role within our Emergency Department.

The Emergency Department is a busy, progressive unit with a clear patient-centred focus. We have made a strong commitment to quality. The team have a strong emphasis on developing health care practice through ownership, research/evidence-based practices, commitment and multidisciplinary involvement, experience of which would be desirable.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will be responsible for co-ordinating education, training and CPD framework for our nursing staff and pre-registration students.

Working as a core member of the team you will have responsibility for the overall continuing workforce development of staff within the specialty. You will lead on the non-statutory and mandatory training needs within your speciality area. You will be responsible for the production and delivery of a training needs analysis plan in line with existing national guidance where relevant. You will be responsible for making regular assessments and recommendations based on these needs and guidelines.
- You will act as a clinical and professional role model to maintain and develop exceptional standards of clinical care. You will promote and foster a culture of education and clinical development within the workforce. You will uphold high standards of practice development and clinical supervision.
- You will work alongside other specialities and professional groups to promote and maintain education and clinical development within the workforce

To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

- Organise, develop and lead the delivery of clinical training programmes to meet the learning needs of the clinical workforce within the specialty
- Supporting the implementation of the Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals Strategy
- Act as an expert clinical resource to colleagues by guiding practice developments, assessing competence and supporting implementation of policies
- Demonstrate a problem solving approach to all aspects of the role
- Promote a lifelong learning culture providing a high level of professional leadership for the delivery of workforce development
- Challenge practice and identify competency issues
- Support the implementation and sustainability of clinical supervision
- Ensure production of transparent data and reports from the practice development team.
- Demonstrate professional leadership and uphold high standards of clinical practice
