**The Company**

Quest Search & Selection are currently partnering with a UK furniture & home retailer and supplier with over 50 stores, concessions and online presence.

**The Role**

As Assistant Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company's high standards of health and safety are adhered to and oversee the H&S compliance in relation to the site.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensuring that effective risk assessments are in place for all the site's activities, including SOPRA, COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise, DSE, and other statutory requirements.
- Ensuring Group systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses are implemented.
- Arranging inspection and testing of various facilities and Manufacturing equipment in accordance with insurance and statutory requirement.
- Implementing testing arrangements for emergency response and fire systems.
- Maintaining relevant KPIs and information on Health and Safety
- Providing training and communication to ensure that all employees are aware of their H&S responsibilities and are competent to undertake them
- Carrying out internal audits and inspections

**Key requirements**:

- You must have 2-3 years + previous experience of manufacturing from a non-food, furniture, upholstery or homewares background.
- That you are operating as a H&S Specialist/Advisor/Manager or Team Leader level.
- Knowledge of SOPRA, SharePoint would be advantageous.
- A NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent certification is essential
- Proven background in successfully monitoring, and achieving safety KPI's within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confident in challenging behaviour as well as leading training
