Willy's ACV is a family business in the heart of Herefordshire. We grow organic apples on our farm, harvesting and fermenting them into apple cider vinegar (ACV). We sell ACV products with the aim of promoting good health and well being as well as delivering superior taste and flavour. We are a small company with big ambitions and we’re looking for a finance assistant to join our team and support our growth.
As a Finance Assistant/Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for various financial tasks, including bank reconciliation, monthly payment of PAYE/NIC/ to HMRC, preparation and checking of quarterly VAT returns on Sage, and submission to HMRC, accruals & prepayments and purchase ledger ownership
Additionally, your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, liaising with the General Manager, and assisting accountants in the preparation of year-end accounts and other statutory deadlines. You will also be responsible for managing finance queries and assisting with other tasks as required.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Bank reconciliation: Ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of bank statements.
- Monthly payment of PAYE/NIC/ to HMRC
- Preparation and checking of quarterly VAT returns: Using Sage to prepare and submit VAT returns to HMRC.
- Assisting with year-end accounts and statutory deadlines: Collaborating with accountants and the General Manager to meet financial reporting requirements.
- Managing finance queries: Providing support and resolving any financial queries from internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Experience with accruals and prepayments and general accounting journal postings
- Purchase Ledger: Ownership and maintenance of the full purchase ledger, including processing invoices, obtaining authorizations for payments, and reconciling supplier statements.
- Prepare and maintain a 13 week rolling cash flow
- Answering ad hoc finance queries
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management
- Proficiency in Sage desirable
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal stakeholders
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
**Salary**: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
